Delivery & Shipping Information

Mainland UK Delivery - Standard 

Please note that all orders will have a £5.95 delivery charge applied to customers in Mainland UK* areas however this unfortunately excludes certain areas of the Highlands and Scottish Islands. Carriage costs can vary with weight and our shopping system will usually calculate the worst scenario. if you wish to query the carriage costs calculated on your purchase order please telephone us on 01254 820088 and we will check that you are paying the most economical shipping cost.

If you are in one of the following UK post codes please note that a one off additional carriage charge will need to be applied to your order and this will be calculated at checkout when you enter your delivery address. Should you have any queries in relation to carriage prices then please do contact us before ordering and we will do our very best to answer your query, either by phone 01254 820088 or by email to orders@gardeningworks.co.uk

Please note that standard mainland deliveries are made by Yodel, Hermes, Royal Mail and on occasions other carriers where necessary and may require a signature. If you need more information contact us with the order details and we will advise who the carrier will be.

Wooden orders are sent with Yodel on a proof of delivery service so someone needs to be there to accept the delivery we have been advised that they will not leave goods in a 'safe place' if there is no-one in, they should attempt delivery three times and leave a card after which you the customer will then have to arrange to collect your items from the holding depot within 24 hours, if the goods are not collected they will be returned to ourselves incurring return and re-delivery costs to yourself. Goods may be left with a neighbour but only with your permission and the neighbours and this must be put on your order in customer notes stating which neighbour. You should receive an email on the morning of the delivery from Yodel with delivery information, a 2 hour delivery time slot so that you can be in to accept the delivery and a link should you need to change your delivery.

Should you decide to ask for delivery whereby goods are left at your designated place please note that you will assume full liability for the safety of the goods and we cannot be held responsible for any losses or damage when goods are left at your request, any replacements will be at the cost of you the customer.

Return to sender is charged at £20.00 per parcel and we reserve the right to deduct this from any refunds that may become applicable.

On receipt please check all goods delivered and notify us within 72 hours of any missing or damaged items.

Returns and Refunds

1.If you are returning goods that are damaged you should notify us within 72 hours of receiving the goods, we require the goods to be left as they were received, to enable any possible claim to be put against our suppliers or carriers. We would also require photographic evidence of any damages. We will look at each case individually and if we require you to return the goods we will refund the shipping cost, alternatively we will pick up from your premises and provide you a full replacement.


2. Unwanted goods can be returned to us for a refund or credit if they are in perfect resalable condition and within 14 days of receiving these goods. Return costs will be paid by the customer and if you ask us to make arrangements for a pick up we will refund the cost of the goods minus any return shipping costs incurred by the company, the cost to be agreed in advance. This may not be exactly the shipping cost shown on the invoice as this is often subsidised.

However we sincerely hope that you will never need to use this service and that your orders will be correct first time and that you will be pleased with your purchases.
